Picked through the bard's college for interesting books, ingredients, food, and anything valuable nobody would miss. Swapped the loot for potion ingredients, sold the potions I made, made more money. Off to sort their problem out.
Go into the hall of the dead, then to catacombs, find her, kill her, bring back remains. Simples.
Nyothing is ever simple. Draugr in dark corners, draugr with spells, VAMPIRE NYECROMANCERS, and that damn spellcaster trick, combined with freezing my boots to the damn floor.
And then a horde of draugr.
And a room full of draugr and vampires that animate as I'm looting them. Joke's on you, ladies, I stole your clothes right off you while you were sleeping. And your weapons.
And then the queen herself tries to kill me. FUS RO DAH and stab her a few times, then she went down. Took the skull, wandered through to the exit, with a last couple of draugr on the way.
Wait, where am I NYOW?
Ugh. Wandering back along the coast, gotta go back the long way now.
Oh, hey, is that a door? Looks like a shortcut to me! Through the door, up some steps, and I'm in Solitude again. Off to turn in the skull and the quest, and see if I can buy property yet. That house looks nice...
YES. I am able to buy property!
And after a brief consultation with the jarl-ess and buying the house, I'm now a thane. Apparently I've helped a bunch of people out already.
ALL HAIL SKORPY, THANE OF SOLITUDE!
And Whiterun. And Morthal. I wonder if I can get to be thane of Markarth and Riften, too? Maybe Dawnstar and Winterhold and Windhelm, too.
Not even BEEN to Falkreath yet, though. Maybe I should.
Off to visit my new house. Proudspire Manor.
It's pretty big. Glad I had it decorated, too. I have my own alchemy table and arcane enchanter, a whackload of storage on shelves, weapon racks, display plaques, bookshelves like crazy, a big four-poster double bed, a big kitchen, THREE FLOORS, two entrances, armour dummies to hold my spare armour pieces...
I love it! And it even comes with a new housecarl. Hello new housecarl. I'd love to take you with me, but Lydia's already established.
This place is way fancier than my little place in Whiterun, but the location's nyot really good. Nyot central enough for skyrim, but handy for markarth, I guess. And it's not as home-y.
I mean, for 30,000 septims, it BETTER be fancy. Just not home, really. Plus, it doesn't have my stash of smithing materials or skooma or alchemy ingredients.
Or the slowly-increasing pile of daedra hearts. Squishy, but it'll be so useful when I get around to making daedric stuff for me and lydia.
