Knyew I was right not to trust the swamp. Just found a big scorpion thing attacking a horker and a couple of spiders. Naturally, we hung back for a bit, then
charged in and finished them all off. Got some nice stuff for our troubles, too.
Spiders AGAIN, attacking random mages. All too happy to let them wear on each other before I whacked them and took their stuff.
Found an old Nyord ruin. Marked it on the map so I can come back later when I'm NOT laden down with wares. Should be good looting there.
Is... Is that a ship?
It is. Dumped on the beach by the waves, on it's side. Kinda sad. And it's full of mudcrabs. Filthy creatures. Some ore and books inside, though, including a
good one on archery. And quite rare ores, too!
Cleared the mudcrabs out. Filthy creatures. Then took a short nyap in one of the crew bunks, after making a nyest between bunk and wall. Kinda damp and cold, but beats a tent in a swamp.
Feeling perked up a bit, we set out again. Wolves, mudcrabs (filthy creatures), MORE wolves, and a couple of bears. Lots of alchemical ingredient, and an upturned rowboat with some interesting stuff in it.
Dawnstar's just over there. Where's the road.
Khajiit caravan! SKOOMA! And they say they'll give me a discount if I go fetch an amulet that was stolen from them. The bandits are quite a ways away, so I just unloaded my wares on them anyway. Lugging those bows around was right, I got a nice amount of stuff off them. Septims, moon sugar, some skooma, soul gems, and some arrows. Dwarven again; seems elven ones are hard to come by this far north.
Wandered into dawnstar. Nightmares are plaguing the people. And the museum is apparently for the cult that toppled the empire half a century ago, with the oblivion crisis.
Small museum. In a guy's house. He wants me to go fetch the bits of a daedric weapon for him. He's paying, and he's kind of wussy, so I doubt he'd be able to really swing it properly. Just hope it isn't stolen off him by someone who CAN.
And a potion store! Picked up some stuff there, mainly healing potions.
Off for winterhold. Along the cost, because I can't find a proper road that way.
Tent, with flowers, wine, shoes, and an amulet of mara in it. Nobody about, though. Odd.
This is gonna be a long walk. Beset with wolves and horkers and bears, and occasional paddling in a very cold sea. TOO cold. There's ICE in it. Ice is something that should only be in fancy drinks in big imperial cities. Not in the sea!
A long walk indeed. Found a standing stone that helps lockpicking, though, but I think I'll keep the thief stone for now, so I learn quicker.
I hate snow. It's in my boots, in my ears, UNDER MY ARMOUR, and my tail is covered.
Winterhold! Finally! A quick chat with a shopkeeper, then into the tavern and out of this blizzard! And nyaptime. A good long sleep...
