Okay, turns out it's morning. And I'm nyow down ANOTHER thousand septims for another damn crime. Maybe I should stop attacking thalmor people until I'm rich. There just isn't that much stuff ON them to counter the bounties I run up for killing them.
Welp, enough moping. Errands to run around town, then on with looting the local dwarven ruins. Just a cursory search of the spider-infested mine turned up enough for two full sets of armour, weapons, and some leftovers. I may have to acquire a handcart for moving all the scrap around.
Or just make multiple trips out. Maybe I can stash it near the entrance, and just make multiple trips down to the smelter?
Definitely going to need to clear my pack out first, though. Clear out as many potions and trinkets as possible.
Of course, I'll probably NYEED potions. If this place was SAFE, I wouldn't have been sent in to find what happened to the LAST team. Probably these dwarven constructs I keep hearing about.
Of course, I have the location of another dwarven ruin, thanks to barbarian lady in riften. She apparently lost her sword there when she got injured. Nyaturally, seeing a potential job there, I asked about what happened to the sword she was talking about. A short story later, and she said it was in the dwarven ruin she was injured in.
I offered to get it back if she marked it on my map. So now I'm getting paid to go into another ruin and fetch something. Something definite and absolute, not a vague concept and some information that the wizard will probably skip out on paying me for.
Which reminds me. I really need to go to winterhold! The mages' college is there, after all, and maybe they'll take me in as a student.
Or, at the very least, sell me some spellbooks, some training, and give me a few fetch quests and pointless errands to do. And there's Solitude with the bard's college, and the Dawnstar museum...
I think I'm just going to take a nice, long walk eastwards after I'm done here. Who knows? I might even find a sonnet growing somewhere. Or scampering about.
Okay! Breakfast is done, time to go. Handed the daedra heart (heavy and kinda icky) in to the smith, and got his FINEST piece of armour in return.
A steel plate helm. I found one of these the other day, and SOLD it, because the dwarven stuff I'm wearing was BETTER. Ugh.
Chatted with the jarl about politics for a bit. Particularly about the origins of the stormcloak rebellion. Seems like the stormcloaks are just throwing a tantrum, and the empire is bent over taking it from the elves.
Anyway. Dwarven ruins, ho!
Spiders are back. Stashing any loot by the barrel out here.
Falmer? No wonder the last researchers bought it. Ah, well. Onwards and inwards.
LOTS of falmer. Some traps. More falmer. Lots of scrap.
Spiders, too!
Even more scrap. Looks like this place was set for dinner.
Found the first researcher! Surrounded by dead falmer, slumped in a corner, and with his nyotes handily on the table nyext to him.
It took THREE trips back and forth to empty just this first area! And this place is HUGE. Going to go see what I can smelt down from this lot.
By the gods, this crap is heavy. And this took a LONG time, it's dark out here. Looks to be past midnight, too!
Good thing I borrowed this handcart. Even if it's a struggle to get it down all these damned steps.
